Amanda Millyard – senior associate, family law
Amanda is a Queensland Law Society-accredited specialist in family law and an Independent Children’s Lawyer (ICL). Local to Cairns and practising in family law since 1997, her expertise includes advising in complex property disputes, children’s cases –including international and domestic child relocation – and relationship agreements to protect high-wealth clients. She works closely with managing partner Eddy Lago.
Rhiannon Saunders – associate, commercial litigation; governance and risk management
Joining WGC in 2009, Rhiannon has expertise in the areas of debt recovery, governance and risk management, and insolvency. Rhiannon has previously been involved with the Young Chamber Committee, Youth Empowered Towards Independence (YETI) and the Women’s Centre Cairns. She works closely with litigation partner John Hayward.
Thomas Cameron – associate, commercial and property
Tom joined WGC in 2011. He has been practising law for more than six years in Cairns and has a reputation for providing client-focused advice at a reasonable price. From a farming background, Tom offers clients adown-to-earth service that considers a broad spectrum of possible consequences and outcomes. He works closely with commercial partners Michael Huelin and Graham Dutton.
Nerida Whelan – associate, litigation and construction
Nerida joined WGC in 2012 after completing an associateship with the Supreme Court of Queensland. Nerida is a graduate of James Cook University in Cairns, having completed a Bachelor of Laws with Class 1 honours in 2010. She works closely with litigation partner Doug McKinstry in the litigation team and became an associate in 2014.
Petrina Cao-Kelly – lawyer, commercial and property
Petrina joined the WGC commercial law team in 2014, bringing a depth of experience gained in management with government and small business enterprises. Her experience spans more than two decades and extends to financial, legal and human resources. She works closely with commercial partner Michael Huelin for a variety of clients.
Jacqui Lee Long – associate, estate planning and administration
Jacqui is a well-known, long-term local who has been involved in the legal industry for more than 17 years. Her area of expertise is estate planning, administration and litigation. She is approachable, diligent and, with a can-do attitude, excels in her areas of practice. Jacqui works closely with lawyer Greg Parr in the estate planning area.
Erin Priest – lawyer, commercial and property
Erin completed a Bachelor of Laws with Class 2B honours in 2013 from Griffith University in Brisbane. Erin joined WGC in 2015. Her previous roles include associate to Justice Henry in the Supreme Court and working as a court reporter with the State Reporting Bureau. She works closely with partner Michael Huelin in the commercial team.
Ella Thomas – lawyer, family law
Ella joined WGC in 2015 after completing an associateship with the District Court of Queensland. A graduate of James Cook University in Cairns, Ella completed a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws in 2013. She was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2014.
Jessika Reghenzani – lawyer, commercial litigation; governance and risk management
Having just joined the firm, local Jessika is working with partner John Hayward within the commercial litigation team. A graduate of James Cook University in Cairns, Jessika completed a Bachelor of Business (human resources) and Bachelor of Laws in 2013. She was admitted as a lawyer to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2014.
Belinda Down – client development
Belinda has just joined WGC to assist with client development. Belinda has a legal degree and more than 15 experience with government, small business, development and marketing across several industry sectors in the region.
