John Hayward, Director

John Hayward is a Litigation Director of WGC Lawyers.  John:

  • is a member of the Litigation team
  • leads the Employment Law team
  • leads the Governance and Risk Management team
  • leads the Insolvency and Debt Recovery team

John practises predominantly in the areas of civil and commercial disputes, employment law, corporate governance and insolvency.  John has acted for and advised many businesses, local governments, boards and individuals in all of these areas.
John is known for providing his clients with clear and practical advice.  He has extensive experience in promptly and cost-effectively resolving disputes, or otherwise proceeding before all of the State Courts and the Federal Courts, the Fair Work Commission, as well as a variety of State Tribunals including the Queensland Civil and Administrative Tribunal (QCAT).

John has more than 15 years’ experience in the area of employment and discrimination law acting for both employers and employees.  John is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and he enjoys working with boards and committees on governance and management matters.

John has extensive experience in the area of debt recovery and insolvency. He has broad experience in all aspects of voluntary administration, liquidation, receivership and bankruptcy matters. John has worked with and against liquidators, bankruptcy trustees, banks and government bodies such as the ATO.

John has regularly been engaged as an expert speaker for information seminars held for a variety of audiences.
